ABC News reporter Steve Osunsami said that President Trump won a “vote of confidence” in the special election.
Following Republican Karen Handel’s victory over Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday night, ABC News reporter Steve Osunsami said that President Trump won a “vote of confidence” in the election.
“If this was indeed a vote of confidence on President Trump, then he won,” Osunsami said.
Osunsami read out Trump’s celebratory text message to supporters, which declared the congressional win “BIG LEAGUE.”
National Democrats spent almost $40 million in an attempt to steal a special election from Republicans. Despite the president’s poor poll numbers and congressional discord, all four of their attempts fell short.
