McCabe: "You can't stop the FBI from doing the right thing, protecting the American people."

Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe said that none of the ongoing investigations the FBI is conducting have been impeded by the departure of former FBI Director James Comey during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Thursday.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) asked McCabe if the dismissal of Director Comey has interrupted, stopped, or negatively impacted any of the FBI’s investigations.

“The work of the men and women of the FBI continues despite any changes in circumstance, any decisions. So there has been no effort to impede our investigation to date,” McCabe told Rubio.

McCabe went on to say: “Quite simply put, sir, you cannot stop the men and women of the FBI from doing the right thing, protecting the American people, and upholding the Constitution.”
