Media outlets and Democrats made hay out of reports that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke threatened Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) over her health care vote. They made up this week.
The headlines were eye-popping:
- CNN: Murkowski says Zinke contacted her in wake of health care votes
- CBS News: Interior secretary called Murkowski to say Trump “wasn’t pleased” with her health care vote
- Alaska Dispatch News: Trump administration threatens retribution against Alaska over Murkowski health votes
- The Washington Post: Messing with Murkowski may not be illegal, but it sure wasn’t very smart
Media made hay over the alleged feud between Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) – regarding Murkowski’s vote on health care reform – and Democrats promised an investigation.
Is the feud overblown, though?
Secretary Zinke tweeted out a picture of him and Murkowski enjoying some beers together on Thursday:

It appears Zinke and Murkowski have made up, poking a hole in the narrative of a Cabinet member warring with a U.S. senator.
