Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Education, Betsy DeVos, appeared before the Senate HELP Committee on Tuesday.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) used his questioning of DeVos as a platform to promote his liberal education agenda, which calls for free college for all.
DeVos pointed out to Sanders that there is no such thing as a free lunch, meaning someone would have to foot the bill for free college.
Sen. Sanders also attacked DeVos for donations her family made to the RNC, but failed to disclose that he has received over $130,000 from various teachers unions over the years.
