The Vermont senator called the investigation politically motivated.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), whose wife is currently under FBI investigation, blamed that investigation on politically motivated attacks from the RNC.
Sanders said that during his presidential campaign, the Vice Chairman of the Vermont Republican Party “who happened to be Donald Trump’s campaign manager raised this issue and initiated this investigation.”
“I think what you’re looking at is something the Republican National Committee (RNC) is very excited about,” Sanders said. “This is pathetic and that’s the way politics is in America today.”
The Vice Chairman of the Vermont Republican Party or the RNC cannot initiate an FBI investigation.
