The left-wing senator seems tired of Clinton’s attacks.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) slammed Hillary Clinton for remarks reportedly in her upcoming book in an appearance on “The Late Show” Thursday night.
Promoting his own book, Sanders said his book was about making “that political revolution so that we have a government that works for all of us, not just the one percent.”
Host Stephen Colbert joked that Sanders’s previous statement was one of the barbs that Clinton did not like from the Vermont senator. “I think those were the kinds of attacks she was talking about, Bernie,” he said.
“I understand, look,” Sanders said about the book, “Secretary Clinton ran against the most unpopular candidate in the history of this country, and she lost and she was upset about it.”
The senator then called the fact that Clinton was still discussing the 2016 election, “silly.”
Clinton went after Sanders in her new book, criticizing him for disloyalty to the party. “I am proud to be a Democrat, and I wish Bernie were, too,” she wrote.
