Biden Smiles When the Crowd Mentions a Possible 2020 Run

The former vice president seemed happy with the notion of running for president in 2020.

Former Vice President Joe Biden couldn’t contain his smile on Thursday when a crowd at Rutgers University cheered loudly at the possibility of a 2020 presidential run for the former vice president.

Before Biden delivered his speech on sexual assault prevention at Rutgers, someone in the crowd notably yelled “2020!”

The people who had gathered for Biden’s speech erupted into applause, Biden, for his part, was not able to hold back a smile.

Biden’s wife Dr. Jill Biden recently said regarding her husband’s 2020 prospects, “we take one day at a time.”

CNN reported on Biden’s political activities on Thursday:

“On political matters, the inner circle that speaks to Biden nearly every day includes former chief of staff Steve Ricchetti, now the managing director at Penn’s Biden Center; longtime adviser Mike Donilon; Greg Schultz, a former aide now heading up Biden’s American Possibilities political action committee; and Kate Bedingfield, who was Biden’s communications director in his vice presidential office. His sister, Valerie Biden Owens, is also involved in his day-to-day political activities.”

If Biden does decide to run for president, he will be 77 on Election Day 2020.
