Bill Clinton told CNBC’s Becky Quick that if Hillary Clinton became president, concerns that he would act as a conduit between the Clinton Foundation and a Hillary Clinton White House was fair, and that was why he would be stepping down from the Foundation.
Quick pressed Clinton about his daughter Chelsea staying on the Foundation board, and acting as that conduit. Clinton brushed the question aside, saying, “Well, we all know people.”
He then proceeded to give a fairly muddled answer but ultimately conceded, “Chelsea’s got to decided what she’s going to do. Somebody has to stay there… somebody has to superintend the handing off of all this.”
