On Saturday, Bill McKibben – a noted environmental activist and Sanders supporter – held a symposium at Tufts University in Boston, MA. During McKibben’s remarks, he pontificated on the 2016 presidential election.
“I’m knocking on wood and hoping that Hillary Clinton will be elected, not because she’s very good on these issues. In fact, she’s not. But because she’s pressurable on them and [inaudible] what movements are about,” McKibben told the crowd.
McKibben’s lack of enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton might have something to do with recently released transcripts of Clinton’s speeches, where she reportedly told an audience that Keep It In The Ground environmental activists need to “get a life.”
