Former interim chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Donna Brazile said that working as DNC chair during the 2016 presidential election was worse than Hurricane Katrina for her emotionally, during an interview on Sunday.

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was interviewing Brazile about her new book, “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns that Put Donald Trump in the White House.”

Excerpts from Brazile’s book have started to be released and are causing controversy among the various camps inside the Democratic Party.

Stephanopoulos asked Brazile if she has any regrets about writing the book.

“Do I regret taking on a job the second time in my life as chair of the party? Cleaning up everyone’s mess? Taking all of the incoming, being unable to spend funds that I raised,” Brazile asked rhetorically. “Do I regret being on the road 100% of the time? Being hacked by the Russians? Being — being harassed, getting death threats? Do I regret any of that?”

“George, this was worse than Hurricane Katrina in terms of the emotional toll,” Brazile continued.

Brazile is a native of New Orleans, LA, and was actively involved in the relief efforts that followed the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.

“Do I regret standing up for what is right? Helping Hillary Clinton? Helping the Democratic Party….Do I regret any of that? No, I wish I could have done more George,” Brazile concluded.

Stephanopoulos followed up by asking Brazile again if she regretted writing the book.

“Well, George, I mean this is a lesson of 2016. If I released it next year, they would say, Donna, you’re impacting our 2018,” Brazile responded. “George for those who are telling me to shut up, they told Hillary that a couple of months ago. You know what I tell them, go to hell.”
