The Illinois governor touted his accomplishments through his first term, but said there is work to be done.

Governor Bruce Rauner (R-IL) announced his reelection campaign with a video of him riding a motorcycle across his state on Monday.

“Together, we’ve taken on the toughest fights: property taxes, education, criminal justice, ethics,” Rauner narrates. “We’ve won some, and we’ve lost some, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy.”

The governor made clear that there is still work to be done. “Illinois still needs property tax relief, real term limits, and a budget that won’t bankrupt us or break us.”

Throughout the video, Rauner references the corruption of the “Madigan machine,” which he says “will never fail to fail us.”

The governor has already drawn two Democratic challengers in Chris Kennedy and J.B. Pritzker, whom he has tied to State House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-Chicago).
