Becerra reiterates support for union but says "we all get to express ourselves."

Democratic Attorney General Xavier Becerra of California whiffed when asked the question of whether the issue of California secession should be on the ballot during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

Fox News’ Dana Perino asked Becerra about a group that is currently collecting signatures so the question could be on the ballot next November and whether Becerra supported this type of question.

“Well, we all get to express ourselves, and there are certain people in California who are frustrated with this administration constantly taking digs and hurting California,” Becerra responded.

Becerra then touted how big the California economy is telling Perino, “the U.S. needs California as much as I believe California needs to be part of the United States.”

“We’ll do everything we can to be the leading force for this country. Rather than be out of it, I think we can continue to be the leader in it,” Becerra concluded.

This new ballot initiative is the third official secession effort in California this year.
