The leaker who dumped intelligence secrets has been “permanently banned” from America’s northern neighbor.
The Canadian government blocked former U.S. Army Private Chelsea Manning from entering the country, according to a tweet that Manning posted on Monday:

Posting an image of a message from Canada’s immigration authorities, Manning complained that Canada had “permanently banned” her for “convictions similar to ‘treason.'”
“If committed in Canada [Manning’s] offence would equate to an indictable offence, namely Treason described under section 46(2)(B) of the Criminal Code of Canada, punishable under section 47(2)(C) of the Criminal Code of Canada, for which a maximum penalty of 14 years of imprisonment may be imposed,” the letter read.
Manning indicated in replies to the tweet that she will appeal the decision.
The former private pleaded guilty to espionage and theft of confidential intelligence material. President Obama commuted Manning’s 35-year sentence before leaving office.
