NBC’s Savannah Guthrie thought Chelsea’s answer left the door open for a possible future run.
Chelsea Clinton appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” to promote her new book “She Persisted” on Tuesday, and told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie that she doesn’t have any plans to run for public office.
Guthrie asked Chelsea Clinton if she would like to run for public office in the future, citing how Chelsea has been more vocal on social media since her mother’s stunning election loss.
“You know, Savannah, I don’t have any plans to,” Chelsea responded. “I don’t think that being a citizen is just something that happens in an election year. I think that it’s something that we have to feel a responsibility to every day, and these days more than ever.”
“I hear that as a maybe,” Guthrie said after Chelsea’s answer.
