Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed confidence that Obamacare in its current form will not collapse, during an interview with Fox News‘ Bret Baier on Wednesday.
Bret Baier asked Schumer if he disagrees that Obamacare will implode if it is left alone.
“Yes,” Schumer told Baier, then went on to talk about the recent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report regarding the American Health Care Act (AHCA), and how Democrats would be willing to work with Republicans on fixing Obamacare if they drop repeal.
Baier pointed out to Schumer that, “the markets for Obamacare show demand has leveled off. Prices for premiums and deductibles are skyrocketing for a lot of people.”
“Some states go up, and some go down,” Schumer responded. However, a majority of states saw their premiums increase in 2016.
Baier followed up by asking Schumer, “to clarify, you say if Obamacare is left as it is, you do not believe it will implode and that prices will continue to skyrocket?”
“I believe that’s right,” Schumer responded.
