On Sunday, Hillary Clinton supporter Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) appeared on ABC News’ This Week With George Stephanopoulos to discuss the 2016 election and Russia’s involvement.
Stephanopoulos asked McCaskill if she agreed with outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), who is calling on FBI Director James Comey to resign because he underplayed Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election.
“I don’t think anyone is comfortable with how this election played out,” McCaskill told Stephanopoulos. McCaskill did clarify though that she wasn’t questioning the results and conceded that Trump won the election.
“I’m not questioning that Donald Trump won the election,” she said. “But there’s nothing more sacred than our democratic process in the United States, and we’ve got to put aside partisan politics and make sure we’re getting to the bottom of this.”
