Before the final presidential debate, Hillary Clinton’s Press Secretary Brian Fallon appeared on MSNBC to talk about Clinton’s preparation ahead of the debate.
MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked Fallon about Patricia Smith, whose son was killed in the Benghazi terror attacks, and whether Hillary Clinton lied to her about the cause of the attacks.
Fallon claimed that independent fact checks had found Mrs. Smith’s claims about what Hillary Clinton told her to be false.
That, however, is not the case, according to PolitiFact:
“It is impossible to know with certainty what Clinton told these families in brief conversations at a private reception only three days after Benghazi. Some, but not all, family members who have spoken to the media said Clinton mentioned a video or protests in their meeting. Some said she didn’t mention a video. Clinton says she did not.”
