Mark Preston criticized the Obama administration for its weak response to intelligence reports that Russia was attempting to influence the 2016 election.
CNN analyst Mark Preston blasted the Obama administration for its weak response to intelligence reports of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election on New Day on Friday.
The Washington Post reported on Friday that the Obama administration had known prior to the election that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered an intelligence operation to swing the U.S. election to Donald Trump.
“The Obama administration fumbled the ball on this,” he said. “As much as we are looking ahead to see how do we stop it in the future, you gotta look in the past to look for clues to see where they mishandled the situation.”
Preston also said that the obsession with the Trump campaign’s possible involvement in any wrongdoing clouded the larger issue.
