April Ryan, White House correspondent for the National Urban Radio Network, and New Day co-hosts Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota implied that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer is sexist on Wednesday, a day after he engaged in a tense back-and-forth with Ryan.
At a Tuesday White House press briefing, Spicer told Ryan to “stop shaking your head” during a tense exchange over Trump-Russia connections.
Cuomo asked Ryan if she sees her treatment from Spicer as different from the treatment he handed out to other reporters.
“There was a young lady from POLITICO over the weekend, a white woman, who was called an ‘idiot’ by Sean,” Ryan said. “This is part of a series of two women this week who have been in the news over something with the press secretary.”
Camerota continued on the issue, “Do you think he treats women differently in the press room?”
Ryan refused to definitively say that Spicer discriminated against women, but offered her observations: “From the weekend, that reporter from POLITICO who he called an idiot and then this situation – it’s showing a pattern.”
Spicer told Breitbart that Politico‘s Tara Palmeri was “an idiot with no real sources,” regarding her health care reporting.
