A CNN panel on Sunday morning’s Inside Politics said that Democrats will not work to fix any failings in the health care system because of President Trump’s poor poll numbers.
Host John King criticized Trump for abandoning Obamacare repeal-and-replace: “He’s the fire chief now. Yes, Obamacare was put in place under the previous administration, but you can’t show up at a fire and say, ‘oh that one started under the last guy. I’m not going to put it out.'”
Margaret Talev of Bloomberg Politics said that one of Trump’s options is to work with Democrats. “I’m not sure why they would do that given his standing in the polls.”
John King replied, “they won’t.”
Jeff Zeleny, CNN’s senior White House correspondent, added, “right.”
