Jim Acosta has been miffed in recent days given Trump’s attitude toward CNN.
CNN White House Correspondent Jim Acosta called President Trump’s press conference in Poland a “fake news conference” immediately following the event on Thursday.
Discussing Trump’s decision to call on a conservative reporter, Acosta said, “This was not a surprise at all that the president would take the first question from an American reporter during his foreign trip here and that it would be from the friendly news media, a friendly reporter who teed up a question about CNN.”
“For the president to then go off on CNN as ‘fake news’ to me just made this entire spectacle seem like a ‘fake news’ conference,” Acosta said.
“I think the conservative news media was being used here,” he added.
Acosta previously came under fire for tweeting that the White House press briefing didn’t “feel like America” to him because a White House spokesperson called on a conservative outlet during the briefing:
Does this feel like America? Where the White House takes q's from conservatives, then openly trashes the news media in the briefing room.

Trump did call on NBC News’ Hallie Jackson as well, who pressed the president on Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
