Following the first presidential debate, Donald Trump complained that his microphone was not working properly in the debate hall. Hillary Clinton mocked this claim to the press following the debate.
It turns out Trump was telling the truth. CNN’s Brian Stelter reported that Commission on Presidential Debates is now saying, “there were issues regarding Donald Trump’s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall.”
The sound was not an issue for the 84 million Americans who were watching the debate at home, but it was an issue for those within the debate hall. Trump blamed the malfunctioning microphone for throwing him off his game.
