Following the final presidential debate, Hillary Clinton advisor Neera Tanden appeared on CNN’s New Day to discuss the debate. CNN’s Chis Cuomo asked Tanden specifically about an email she sent John Podesta that was released by WikiLeaks. In the email Tanden expressed frustration with Clinton’s inability to do a national interview, writing:
“….her inability to just do a national interview and communicate genuine feelings of remorse and regret is now, I fear, becoming a character problem (more so than honesty)…I see no downside in her actually just saying, look, I’m sorry. I think it will take so much air out of this.”
“You know, I know that Russia and other forces would love us to have a debate. This is exactly what they want. They want us to have a debate of the internal structure of Hillary’s campaign. What’s true, what’s not true. I’m just not going to play that,” Tanden told Cuomo blatantly refusing to answer the question.
Cuomo called out Tanden for refusing to answer the question saying, “Neera if this email was from Kellyanne Conway to Dave Bossie, you would be giving me all your deepest thoughts about it right now. You don’t like it because it’s your e-mail. You’re ducking it you’re not having high ground.
