FBI Director James Comey said that there is “a whole lot” of inaccurate reporting regarding classified information that is leaked to the media during his testimony before the House Select Intelligence Committee on Monday.
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) asked Comey if he could confirm that the FBI was investigating the leaking of classified information to the media.
Comey refused to comment on the possibility of an ongoing investigation but did tell Gowdy, “Sometimes the newspapers get it right but there is a whole lot of wrong information allegedly about classified activities that’s in the newspaper. We don’t call the newspapers and correct them.”
