The former Secretary of State defended President Trump’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said that President Trump, “has the right to remove an FBI Director,” during an interview on CNN Wednesday.
“Of course [Trump] has the right to remove an FBI director because the FBI director, like any member of the executive branch, serves at the pleasure of the president,” Rice matter-of-factly told CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
Trump’s decision to fire Comey on Tuesday has received considerable backlash and drawn comparisons to former President Richard Nixon from Democrats and members of the media since the decision was announced.
