“It appears that people are taking the right steps and the right measures so far,” Al Green said of the Trump’s administration response to Hurricane Harvey.
Rep. Al Green (D-TX) has co-sponsored articles of impeachment against President Trump. But with his district in the path of Hurricane Harvey, Green says that the Trump administration has handled the preparation for the Hurricane well.
Hurricane Harvey, “could make landfall as a Category 3 hurricane or higher — with winds of at least 111 miles per hour — by early Saturday near Corpus Christi, Tex.”
MSNBC’s Katy Tur asked Green what contact he has had with the Trump administration regarding the hurricane.
“We’ve been engaged by way of phone conversations,” Green told Tur. “We have these conference calls, and they have provided a good deal of information. They’ve indicated that resources will be properly staged so that they can get into the area quickly.”
“So it appears that people are taking the right steps and the right measures so far,” Green concluded. “I encourage everyone, stay off the streets. And remember, turn around, don’t drown. Make sure that you are secure.”
Green has made a name for himself in recent months by calling for Trump’s impeachment, even offering articles of impeachment against him.
