Jackie Speier, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, praised the choice of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel.
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, voiced support for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation.
“As much as many of us have been despairing about the state of our democracy, the decision by Rod Rosenstein to actually identify a special counsel and name Robert Mueller is remarkable,” Speier said.
Speier said that “it took a lot of guts” for Rosenstein to appoint a special counsel.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Speier if she was “very encouraged” with the choice of Robert Mueller.
“I am indeed,” she answered.
