Mayor Steve Adler (D-Austin) said in an SXSW interview with POLITICO Playbook on Monday that he is “really excited” by President Trump’s plan to spend a trillion dollars on infrastructure.
“We’re really excited at the prospect of having a trillion dollars being spent on infrastrucutre,” Adler said. “We’ll take as much of it as we can.”
Adler made clear that no plan had been presented yet “how there’s actually going to be a trillion dollars in spending.”
However, Trump’s proposal has given cities like Austin “great hope,” Adler said.
