At a House Democrats press conference Wednesday, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), the Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, flippantly accused President Trump of aiding Russia in subverting U.S. national interests.
“From the first day in office, this President has been focused on two things: helping his billionaire crony buddies and helping Russia undermine our national interests,” Sanchez said.
Sanchez offered no evidence to back up her claim.
The FBI is expected to announce whether or not it is pursuing an investigation into ties between Russian officials and the Trump campaign.
Despite previous speculation to the contrary, President Trump has thus far maintained all Obama-era sanctions on members of the Russian government.
