Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) argued that Trump’s actions had established a clear pattern of racism.
Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) accused President Trump of being “clearly racist” and an “abject liar” in an appearance on CNN on Tuesday.
“The president is clearly racist,” Gallego told CNN’s John Berman. “I don’t understand how much more history we need.”
“Many people don’t want to admit it – that we’ve elected a president that’s racist, but he is,” Gallego added. “The evidence is staring us in the face – the president is racist.”
“That’s an explosive charge,” Berman responded.
Berman pointed out that Trump has claimed that he is “the least racist person.”
Gallego responded by calling the president an “abject liar.”
Eventually Berman ended the interview, noting that the congressman was “no fan” of President Trump.
Gallego interrupted Berman to add, “Or racism.” Berman did not appear to appreciate the interruption.
