On Monday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), who is the ranking member on the House Financial Services Committee, appeared on MSNBC to discuss working with a Trump administration.
“I am going to fight him every inch of the way,” Waters declared.
MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff asked Rep. Waters if she would sit down with President-elect Trump if he invited her to the White House to meet on common ground.
“Oh no, I won’t go. I’m not going to sit down with him. I’m not going to go. I’m not going to pretend — enough pretending, this business of calling names and lying and retreating on your promises etc. Why should I trust him to be any different with me?” Waters told Soboroff.
Waters has a much different message compared to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who has said he will work with the Trump administration on areas of common ground.
