Rep. Al Green took to the House floor to try to impeach the president.
Rep. Al Green (D-TX) introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump on the floor of the House of Representatives on Wednesday afternoon.
Green had previously stated his intention to introduce a resolution that could remove the president from office, and he followed through on Wednesday.
“The form of the resolution is as follows: articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America in the Congress of the United States of America,” Green read out to the House floor.
“[Trump] has undermined the integrity of his office with impunity and has brought disrepute on the presidency with immunity,” he said.
Green added that he believes the president “has betrayed his trust as president to the manifest injury of the American people and is unfit to be president.”
