Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) said on MSNBC Wednesday that “there are groups that are organizing people to show up at town halls,” after host Hallie Jackson asked if leftist groups were organizing the protests.
At first, Lieu categorically rejected President Trump’s assertion that protests were organized, calling the demonstrations, “organic, grassroots protests.”
However Lieu added that left-wing groups were organizing constituents from congresspeople’s districts to protest at town halls, refuting assertions that protesters were being bussed in from outside districts or states.
