Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) said that it was right to demand NATO members pay their fair share, a call the president made the day prior in Europe.
Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) agreed with President Trump on CNN Friday that NATO members should pay their fair share for collective defense.
Espaillat criticized Trump for “pointing fingers” in Europe, but host Poppy Harlow asked him if he agreed with Trump’s message.
“Other countries should pay up their share,” he said.
“So you’re happy about it” Harlow noted.
Trump called for boosted military spending by NATO members at a summit in Belgium on Thursday.
