Tim Ryan, who previously challenged Pelosi’s leadership, said it was “true” that Pelosi was more toxic than Trump in some districts.
Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), who previously challenged Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for Democratic Leadership in the House of Representatives, stood by his criticism of the House Minority Leader on CNN on Thursday.
CNN host Poppy Harlow asked Ryan if his statements that Pelosi was less popular than President Trump just served to further divide the party.
“Well, it happens to be true,” Ryan said. “If you went down and did polling in some districts in this country, that’s the result you would get.”
“We’ve got to figure out how to win elections,” he added, implying Pelosi could not lead Democrats to victory.
