Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) said on the Senate floor Tuesday evening that Judge Gorsuch should get a hearing and an up-or-down vote, splitting with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who has insisted that Republicans secure enough votes to break a filibuster on Gorsuch’s nomination.
“Everybody I’ve talked to agrees he should get a hearing and an up-or-down vote,” Shaheen said, in a video posted by America Rising Squared.
Shaheen’s remarks indicated that more Democrats were open to crossing the aisle and breaking Schumer’s filibuster attempt.
