Disagrees With The Obama Administrations Handling Of Israel
On Thursday, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to discuss the Obama administration’s abstention from a controversial resolution at the U.N. regarding Israel, and Secretary of State John Kerry’s follow-up speech.
“What I think is alarming to many of us is that there are other ways to convey that objection to the Israelis than through the United Nations,” Murphy told the panel. “The United Nations is just fundamentally not a fair forum for the Israelis, and traditionally the United States has tried to keep these resolutions at bay – if not vetoing them, at least working behind the scenes to make sure they don’t come up for a vote, and expressing our objections in other forums.”
NBC’s Kasie Hunt asked Murphy if Donald Trump could have a better relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu than President Obama.
“Well, I certainly think that he can build a better relationship with Netanyahu,” Murphy responded.
