Rep. Tim Ryan supports lowering the corporate tax rate and simplifying the tax code.
In an interview with “Morning Joe,” Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) seemed to buck his own party in support of tax reform principles that the GOP has been touting.
Ryan said specifically that “we need to lower the corporate tax rate,” and “we need to simplify the tax code,” in addition to chiding Democrats by noting that his party “can’t just be the party of redistribution of wealth.”
Speaker Ryan has indicated that tax reform is at the top of his legislative agenda, and has staffed members on the House Ways & Means Committee and Finance Committee to work on drafting legislation to be considered when Congress returns from its August recess.
