Democratic Congressional Campaign Manager Resigns Over Allegations of Sexual Harassment

Several women have come forward as part of the #MeToo campaign and accused Erik Taylor of sexually harassing them.

Democratic congressional candidate Phil Janowicz’s campaign manager Erik Taylor was forced to resign following several allegations of sexual harassment.

Taylor is accused of sexually harassing several women during his time at the Democratic Party of Orange County. The allegations were made as part of the #MeToo campaign.

The #MeToo campaign was started by Alyssa Milano following news that Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed and assaulted women for years.

Janowicz who is running against Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) addressed Taylor’s resignation in a Facebook post over the weekend.

“Yesterday afternoon, I accepted the resignation of a senior member of my campaign staff,” Janowicz said in the post. “There have been allegations that have arisen during his time at a previous employer. He vehemently denies these allegations, and I await the results of the formal investigation.”

According to The Orange County Register:

“The women said they were victims of sexual abuse and harassment while working or intering for both organizations.”

“Fran Sado, chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Orange County, said the organization plans a formal investigation into the allegations.”
