During an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) defended letting in Syrian refugees into the United States, citing that there are no examples of a Syrian refugee engaging in terrorist activities in the United States.

Chris Wallace pointed out that one person involved in the San Bernardino terrorist attack came into the United States through a visa program. Syrian refugees have been linked to terrorist plots in Europe.

Yesterday, CNN reported that since 2011, the US government had denied more than 500 Syrian refugees because they had known or suspected terrorism ties.

Even when comforted with this fact, Durbin still defends letting in Syrian refugees into the United States.
