“When Anthem health announces that they’re leaving this state, that is Donald Trump’s fault,” Perez told Ohioans on Thursday.
Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Tom Perez blamed President Donald Trump for Anthem leaving the Obamacare exchanges in Ohio on Thursday, during a speech in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Anthem announced on Tuesday that it will be pulling out of the Obamacare exchanges in Ohio next year, leaving 18 counties Ohio without a coverage option.
“I come to you having seen the nation, traveled the nation. We’ve got a lot of work to rebuild the trust in the Democratic Party, and I’m acutely aware of that,” Perez said during a happy hour for working Ohioans on Thursday.
Perez continued, “the best way to do it is to make sure we are out there side by side with you. Fighting to make sure that we rebuild the bridge.”
“Fighting to make sure we preserve access to health care,” Perez concluded. “When Anthem health announces that they’re leaving this state, that is Donald Trump’s fault.”
