It doesn’t appear that Perez’s strategy of needing more time to get things turned around at the DNC is working.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) just posted its worst fundraising month since 2003 having raised only $4.29 million in May. This comes just one month after the DNC had its worst April in terms of fundraising since 2009.
DNC Chair Tom Perez told MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson during an interview that he just needs more time at the DNC to get things turned around.
“The DNC, you have talked about doubling the budget from $50 million to $100 million this year, but the DNC had it’s worst fundraising in April since 2009, it just posted. Where is the extra 50 million going to come from?” Jackson asked Perez.
“I was the first to say, we have a lot of rebuilding to do,” Perez told Jackson.
Based on May’s abysmal fundraising numbers, it doesn’t appear that time is working in Perez’s favor.
