“I hope this man right here, Rick Scott runs for the Senate,” Trump told a crowd in Florida on Thursday.
President Donald Trump said that he hoped Florida Governor Rick Scott would run for the United States Senate during a visit to Florida on Thursday. Trump was there to survey the damage that Hurricane Irma had caused.
“I hope this man right here, Rick Scott, runs for the Senate. I don’t know what he’s going to do, but I know that at a certain point, it ends for you and we can’t let it end. So I hope he runs for Senate,” Trump told the crowd.
Scott, who is term limited as governor, has been rumored as a potential challenger to Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) in 2018.
