A clearly upset Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) refused to shake Betsy DeVos’ hand following the Senate HELP Committee hearing for Donald Trump’s nominee to head up the Department of Education on Tuesday.
The hearing lasted a little over 3 hours during which time Democrats were very critical of DeVos’ policy proposals.
After Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) had called the hearing to end, DeVos walked up the bench to shake the hands of senators serving on the committee.
Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) and Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) both shook hands with Devos and appeared to exchange pleasantries.
Warren, who was quite critical of DeVos during the hearing, has received more than $29,000 from teachers unions, who oppose DeVos’ nomination.
