FBI Director Chris Wray said that terrorists were already using UAVs on the battlefield in the Middle East.
FBI Director Chris Wray warned a Senate committee on Wednesday that terrorists were exploring the use of unmanned ariel vehicles (UAVs) as a tool to attack the United States.
Responding to a question about drones from Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND), Wray said that the FBI had been worried about the possibility a lot recently.
“It is a topic that we’ve been discussing a lot lately,” he said, adding that terrorists had been using UAVs on Middle Eastern battlefields.
“I think the expectation is that [drone attacks are] coming here, imminently,” Wray warned. “They are relatively easy to acquire, relatively easy to operate, and quite difficult to disrupt and monitor.”
