FBI Director Comey confirmed during a House Judiciary Committee that the FBI had received a request to investigate whether Clinton lied to Congress during her testimony last fall in front of House Select Committee on Benghazi.
“The department has the referral. I think there were two separate referrals, has the referrals. Now it’s pending and so there’s – I’m not going to comment on a pending matter at this point,” Comey informed the committee.
Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) asked if Comey could confirm that the FBI is indeed investigating Clinton.
“I can’t,” Comey answered.
