Rep. Blake Farenthold represents much of the area about to be hit by the hurricane.
Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) did an outdoor interview with MSNBC on Friday as Hurricane Harvey bore down on the district that he represents. Throughout the course of the interview, rain poured down on Farenthold, soaking the congressman.
Farenthold told MSNBC that the city of Corpus Christi was prepared for the coming storm, with low-lying areas evacuated.
“We Texans are resilient, and we’ll help our neighbors out,” Farenthold told the anchors.
MSNBC’s Ali Vitali told the congressman, “You are the picture of resilience, standing there soaked, talking to us as an inspiration to your fellow Texans.”
