GOP Senator Tim Scott Reads Racist Tweets, Exposes Liberal Intolerance

Prior to the confirmation vote for Senator Jeff Sessions’ (R-AL) nomination for Attorney General, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) discussed racist comments he had received from liberal activists for supporting Sessions’ confirmation on the Senate floor Wednesday evening.

“Senator Uncle Tim Scott. Everyone in South Carolina who happens to be a left-winger knows that Tim Scott is an Uncle Tom,” Scott read from one tweet.

“A white man in a black body, Tim Scott backs Jeff Sessions for Attorney General,” Scott read from another.

Twitter users also described Scott’s Chief of Staff as “high yellow, an implication,” Scott said, “that she’s just not black enough.”

Scott also read a tweet that described him as “a disgrace to the black race.”

Scott declined to read any tweets that included the “n-word,” saying it “would not be appropriate.”

“What I’m surprised by, just a smidgen, is the liberal left that speaks and desires for all of us to be tolerant do not want to be tolerant of anyone that disagrees with where they are coming from,” Scott said.
