The White House Press Corps expressed their frustration when Spicer moved on to topics like terrorism.
The White House Press Corps grilled press secretary Sean Spicer over the meaning of an unintelligible word in one of President Trump’s late-night tweets at an off-camera briefing on Wednesday.
One journalist asked Spicer if the American people should be worried about the president’s tweet that stayed up for hours.
“I think the president and a small group of people know what it meant,” Spicer said on the trivial matter.
“What does it mean?” several reporters yelled at Spicer all at once.
Spicer attempted to move onto another question as the briefing room erupted with questions on the president’s unintelligible tweet.
“What does ‘covfefe’ mean?” another reporter yelled.
As one reporter began to ask about the threat of terrorism, someone exclaimed “Oh my gosh!” over Spicer’s refusal to define the word.
Trump tweeted Tuesday night, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” before taking it down Wednesday morning.
