Hillary Clinton knows the last president of the United States to be impeached quite well. It’s Bill Clinton.
Hillary Clinton took a clear shot at President Trump during her remarks at Wellesley College’s graduation on Friday, comparing the current political climate to the one that surrounded the Nixon administration, but made a rather glaring mistake in her recounting of history.
“By the way, we were furious about the past presidential election, of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice,” Clinton told the crowd to raucous applause.
However, Clinton’s statement that Richard Nixon was impeached is inaccurate. Nixion resigned from the presidency before Congress had an opportunity to impeach him.
The last president to be impeached by Congress is none other than Hillary Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton.
